Aquaponic setup at John Muir Elementary School

This aquaponics setup is to engage elementary and high school students on how plants grow. This project will be paired with a "Grow Your Own Lense" workshop which includes making cheap PDMS lenses that attach to your camera. This allows students to observe germination on a day-to-day basis and engage students in learning about plant growth and collecting data.

Materials:

  • 5V lithium battery
  • solar panel
  • 80 gallon water pump
  • digital relay
  • tubing
  • 2 plastic containers
  • cotton balls
  • 12 seeds
